Families & Young People

Because of the Coronavirus Pandemic, our normal services are curtailed for the time being.

Andrews Allsorts

Andrews Allsorts is our group run for children (and adults!) during the 10:00am Sunday Morning service.

The Children leave part way into the service and adults can join them if they wish. They then go into the Church Hall where the fun begins!

Currently we are working our way through watching the DVD series Friends and Heroes. An animated tale of friendship in the first century set in Egypt, Jerusalem and Rome. Inspiring stories from the Old and New Testaments are told relating to their lives to encourage them on their way.

The children then get stuck in with games, puzzles, drawing and all sorts of activities related to the episode and the Bible story for that week whilst talking about what they have seen. This is concluded by prayer.

A highlight for the congregation is when the Andrews Allsorts go back into the service around the time of the offering of The Peace and then walk together up to the front and speak to everyone about what they have been up to that week. Usually resulting in some laughs!

All of our volunteers are DBS checked – see safeguarding page

Donald’s Den Children’s Activities

Here at St Andrews we also have a children’s area “Donald’s Den” which has many books, toys, puzzles, activity books and colouring activities. Your children are welcome to use these at any point during the service.

Busy Bags

We also have “Busy Bags” which you will be offered by one of our sidespeople. These are bags with small activities in that your children can take to their seats in the pews with you to keep them amused/quiet if that is what you prefer.
If you are not offered one please do ask.
Please return these before you leave.

Three Part Service

On the second Sunday in the month, the 10 am service is in three parts: 1. A 35 minute Service of the Word, 2. The Peace & coffee, 3. At 11 am, Holy Communion, with a 3 minute sermon. You may come to any or all parts.
